  • Frequent deficiencies have been detected in materials, causing delays and expenditure rejections.
  • It is crucial to comply with visibility and communication rules to ensure expenditure eligibility.
  • We remind you of the importance of adhering to these guidelines for POCTEP 2021–2027 projects.

 

We have identified areas for improvement in the use of the Programme logo, which appear in a high percentage of the materials reviewed. This prompts us to emphasise a few key aspects to ensure proper compliance with regulations. Please note:

  • The project logo is not mandatory, and in fact, it is recommended to use the Programme logo along with the project acronym (name). However, if you decide to create and use a project logo, it must always appear alongside the Interreg Programme logo.
  • In other words: the project logo must never be used on its own.
  • It should be placed to the right of or below the Interreg logo, separated only by a thin line.
  • No other logo may have greater size or visual prominence than the Interreg logo, as this is a regulatory requirement.
  • The Programme logo must be clearly visible—avoid placing it in corners, at the bottom of documents, or using a reduced size.

The Programme rules on this matter are clear and specific. The Joint Secretariat has repeatedly highlighted their importance in various seminars, as well as through daily consultations and reviews of project materials. These guidelines are formally laid out in Sheet 7 of the Eligibility Rules and in the Graphic Identity Manual for POCTEP projects, both available for download in the “Project Management” section of this website.

Documentation and evidence in the CoFFEE platform

To streamline the review process and avoid unnecessary delays, it is absolutely essential that graphic evidence (photos, videos, screenshots, etc.) is submitted in full, accessible, and properly filed within the CoFFEE platform, assigned to the appropriate budget line.

Files must open without issues and links must function correctly. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in additional requests or even expenditure rejection.

A project is considered completed if it has carried out all planned activities, received its final financial contribution, and has been officially closed by the project beneficiary and/or the Managing Authority.

REGIOSTARS has been organized annually by DG REGIO since 2008. Over the years, it has become Europe’s label of excellence for EU-funded projects that demonstrate the impact and inclusivity of regional development.

The 2025 edition of the REGIOSTARS is launched!

The European wide search for the best cohesion policy projects in 2025 has begun.

Has your project created a positive impact locally? Was something new developed as part of it? Did it bring your region further economically, socially or environmentally? Do the results continue to deliver even after the project ended? Could it be rolled-out across Europe?

If “yes!”, submit your application to the REGIOSTARS contest before 20 May 2025 via the EU Survey REGIOSTARS application form

As in previous year, the projects compete in five categories familiar from the cohesion policy objectives. The competition categories are:

A REGIOSTARS jury composed of high-level academics will assess the submitted project applications and then select the winners of five categories in second selection phase organised as part of the EURegionsWeek in Brussels, in October. In addition, the public will decide on its own winner among 25 finalists through a public on-line vote. The winners will be announced at the festive REGIOSTARS ceremony, the highlight of the EURegionsWeek. As part of their prize, the winners will receive a mini-promotion campaign for their project.

After over 5,000 applications received in total for the past editions, the New European Bauhaus Prizes will this year award 22 exemplary innovative projects and concepts that represent sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusiveness.

This year, the 2025 Prizes edition will have a special focus on housing: the NEB “Affordable housing prizes”. Four projects will be awarded under the strand “New European Bauhaus Champions” for completed projects in the EU contributing to the EU’s efforts to improve housing affordability and combine that commitment with the NEB values and principles.

The 2025 NEB Prizes will reward existing projects as well as concepts developed by young talents under four categories:

  • Reconnecting with nature;
  • Regaining a sense of belonging;
  • Prioritising the places and people that need it the most;
  • Shaping a circular industrial ecosystem and supporting life-cycle thinking.

In each of the four categories, two parallel competition strands are established:

  • Strand A: “New European Bauhaus Champions” will be devoted to existing and completed projects with clear and positive results.
  • Strand B: “New European Bauhaus Rising Stars” will be dedicated to concepts submitted by young talents aged 30 years old or younger. The concepts can be at different stages of development, from ideas with a clear plan to the prototype level.

The 2025 Prizes, supported by the cohesion policy, will be awarded to 22 winners and runners-up in total, who will receive a monetary prize up to €30,000, as well as a communication package to help them further develop and promote their projects and concepts.

A new NEB initiative to empower small municipalities

In parallel to the NEB Prizes, the Commission launched applications for the NEB Boost for Small Municipalities. This new initiative, supported by a pilot project of the European Parliament, will award 20 projects aligned with the NEB values and principles that demonstrate a strong community engagement and a sufficient level of maturity.

Targeting municipalities in rural areas or those with populations under 20,000 inhabitants, the NEB Boost seeks to acknowledge the critical role smaller communities play in the New European Bauhaus movement and in the ongoing transitions in a broader sense. Their involvement is fundamental to ensuring that the movement remains inclusive and accessible to all.

Eligible projects must focus on the built environment, including the construction, renovation, and adaptation of buildings and public spaces. These projects should prioritize circularity, carbon neutrality, cultural heritage preservation, affordable housing solutions, and the regeneration of rural or urban areas.

The 20 winners of the NEB Boost will each receive a €30,000 prize, along with a tailored communication package from the Commission to further amplify their achievements.

 

By integrating the New European Bauhaus with our work on the circular economy, we can unlock new opportunities for sustainable growth, regenerative housing and boost the work of municipalities through these awards.

How to apply

Applications for the Prizes and the NEB Boost for Small Municipalities are open until 21 February 2025 at 19:00 CET. Applications for both should be submitted through the official New European Bauhaus Prizes platform.

All the details about the application process are included in the respective Guides to Applicants: the guide for the NEB Prizes, available in all EU languages as well as those of the Western Balkans and Ukraine, and the guide for the NEB Boost for Small Municipalities, available in all EU languages.

The 22 winners of the NEB Prizes and the 20 winners of the NEB Boost for Small Municipalities will be announced in an award ceremony in the European Parliament in autumn. Further information will be shared soon on the New European Bauhaus Prizes platform.

The New European Bauhaus is an EU policy and funding initiative that makes the green transition in built environments enjoyable, attractive, and convenient for all. The initiative invites everyone to reshape our future and make it more sustainable, beautiful, and inclusive, promoting positive and inclusive experiences for all.

Launched by President von der Leyen in her 2020 State of the Union address, the New European Bauhaus was co-designed with thousands of people and organisations across Europe and beyond.

]]> El marco reglamentario para el período de programación 2021-2027 incluye reglas específicas para las denominadas «operaciones de importancia estratégica» y para las operaciones con un coste total superior a 5 millones de euros, con el fin de garantizar la visibilidad de la ayuda de la Unión Europea. En este sentido, la Comisión pretende aprovechar la visibilidad de las operaciones de importancia estratégica en las campañas de comunicación.

Con miles de proyectos de la política de cohesión financiados cada año en toda Europa, las nuevas disposiciones del RDC tienen por objeto destacar las operaciones clave y emblemáticas, así como sentar las bases para que cuenten la historia del programa y la contribución de la política de cohesión. Corresponde a los Estados miembros y a las autoridades de gestión establecer las operaciones de importancia estratégica. En el marco del POCTEP 2021-2027, hasta la fecha, se han seleccionado 4 operaciones de importancia estratégica y 1 operación con coste total superior a 5M€.

Las entidades beneficiarias de estos proyectos estratégicos pueden descargar documentos de ayuda en la sección “gestión de proyectos” en la presente web. Si bien estos documentos con consejos y directrices se dirigen específicamente a estas operaciones de importancia estratégica, también representan una ayuda e inspiración para entidades beneficiarias de todos los proyectos POCTEP.

]]> On September 19, from 9:30h to 14:00h, the Interreg Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) project FIREPOCTEP+ will host an event in Madrid as part of Interreg Cooperation Day.

It is organised in collaboration with the POCTEP Joint Secretariat, the Managing Authorities and the European Commission.

The event will delve into the vital role of cross-border cooperation in wildfire prevention. Discussions will cover how FIREPOCTEP+ has become a key example of this cooperation, with sessions on the importance of joint efforts in preventing wildfires across borders. Additionally, there will be a workshop focused on co-creating innovative strategies for wildfire prevention.

This event is an opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the ties that make cross-border cooperation so effective in addressing common challenges.

 

About FIREPOCTEP+ project

The FIREPOCTEP+ project (0139_FIREPOCTEP_MAS_6_E) Resilient landscape against large forest fires: emergency response, improvement of interoperability and operational and social training in the face of climate change approved in the 3rd call of the Interreg Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 It is one of the 4 strategic POCTEP risk prevention projects approved so far in the current programming period.

The project is a continuation of the FIREPOCTEP project approved in the period 2014-2020 and works in coordination on both sides of a border area of ​​more than 1,200 km in length represented by three pilot areas where specific actions will be carried out that contribute to preventing and mitigating the negative impacts that may be generated by Forest Fires in the territory and, specifically, how to better manage and act in the Strategic Management Zones (ZEG).

The planned actions involve the analysis of fires, evaluation of warning systems and indicators, implementation of preventive management tasks and improvement of operational and social training against fires.

  • El POCTEP y sus proyectos han recibido varios premios gracias a la participación en el Interreg Cooperation Day, ¿te sumas?
  • Si en el marco de tu proyecto POCTEP está prevista la celebración de algún evento en septiembre, y quieres participar, contacta a la Secretaría Conjunta (SC) POCTEP.

    • Cada año, en la segunda mitad del mes de septiembre y con motivo del Día Interreg de la Cooperación (anteriormente Día de la Cooperación Europea o EC Day) el 21 de septiembre, más de 80 programas Interreg organizan eventos locales para incrementar la visibilidad de los proyectos de cooperación europea y su reconocimiento entre la ciudadanía.

    En este contexto, el Programa Interreg España-Portugal (POCTEP) anima a las entidades beneficiarias a sumarse a esta iniciativa organizando acciones de difusión que ilustren el impacto de los proyectos en el territorio.

     

     

    Premios recibidos

    Los proyectos POCTEP pueden sumarse a las celebraciones del Interreg Cooperation Day y, de hecho, el Programa tiene una trayectoria de éxito en este sentido: en 2022 el POCTEP fue premiado gracias a la participación de los proyectos y recibió la distinción “Best project engagement” y en 2023 el proyecto COOP_ACT (Eurocidade Cerveira-Tomiño) recibió el premio al evento más multitudinario.

    Concursos de fotografía online, jornadas de puertas abiertas, eventos online o exposiciones de divulgación de resultados, encuentros escolares, acciones con los medios, actuaciones musicales o acciones simbólicas de plantado de árboles son algunos ejemplos de actos realizados por el Programa en anteriores ediciones. Si en el marco de tu proyecto está prevista o es posible la celebración de algún evento en septiembre / octubre de este año, puedes enmarcarlo en el Interreg Cooperation Day.

     

     

     

    Tema del año: «Los valores de la UE superan fronteras»

     La campaña tiene en 2024 el objetivo recordar a la población los avances realizados por la Unión Europea en la eliminación de barreras físicas y mentales entre países, garantizando los valores de la UE y la igualdad de oportunidades. Se trata de celebrar las historias de cómo Interreg trabaja a mayor y menor escala en todo el continente para hacer que las fronteras sean irrelevantes en nuestra vida diaria.

    El público objetivo es la ciudadanía general y se pretende visibilizar acciones de los proyectos de cooperación en ámbitos relacionados con la igualdad de acceso a la educación, la salud y el trabajo, así como en construir relaciones comunitarias inclusivas.

    ]]>     Nos complace nuevamente anunciar que 4 proyectos POCTEP quedaron finalistas en el concurso #EuropaSeSiente, celebrado el 21/06/2024 en el marco del Acto Anual de Comunicación de la Dirección General de Fondos Europeos del Ministerio de Hacienda (Gobierno de España).

    Un acto del más alto nivel que contó con la participación de la Vicepresidenta Primera del Gobierno de España y Ministra de Hacienda, María Jesús Montero, así como de la Secretaria General de Fondos Europeos, Mercedes Caballero y del Alcalde de Chiclana, José María Román.

    ]]>     A Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Alentejo I.P. (CCDR Alentejo, I.P.) em parceria com o Programa INTERREG VOLUNTEER YOUTH (IVY), através do seu voluntário Rui Paixão, promoveram um evento destinado aos jovens intitulado Interreg Talks Alentejo, no dia 22 de maio de 2024 no anfiteatro 131 da Universidade de Évora.

    O programa do evento contou com a realização de uma mesa redonda onde o empreendedorismo, a inovação social, a retenção de talentos e os programas Interreg existentes foram o tema central, e apresentações “pitchs” sobre exemplos de boas práticas de 8 projetos financiados pelo Programa de Cooperação Transfronteiriça Interreg Espanha-Portugal (POCTEP).

     

    Raquel Rocha, Coordenadora na Unidade de Política Regional da Agência para o Desenvolvimento e Coesão, IP (Autoridade Nacional POCTEP), participou na Sessão de Abertura e na Mesa Redonda, destacando o valor da cooperação transfronteiriça no âmbito do programa Interreg Espanha-Portugal.

    8 projetos POCTEP

    Oito projetos aprovados no âmbito do programa POCTEP foram apresentados no evento, (dos nove inicialmente previstos, mas finalmente não foi possível contar com o João Assunção, do PACT, que iría apresentar o proyeto CIU3A (Centro de Inovação Universitário).

    Assim, os projetos apresentados foram:

    • Projeto AERIS (Aeronaútica), apresentado por Telmo Pena (ADRAL)
    • Projeto CONECTA PYME (Transformação Digital), apresentado por Paulo Silva (Universidade de Évora).
    • Projeto MAGALLANES_ICC (Indústria Cultural e Criativa), apresentado por Leonel Alegre (Universidade de Évora).
    • Projeto INTREPIDA (Empresárias empreendedoras), apresentado por Helena Toureiro (NERE).
    • Projeto EFES (Economia Social), apresentado por Henrique Sim-Sim (FEA).
    • Projetos GIT EUROACE e GIT EUROAAA (cooperação institucional transfronteiriça), apresentado por Sandra Jorge (CCDR Alentejo I.P).
    • Projeto CAMINOS (Turismo/ Caminhos de Santiago), apresentado por Pedro Beato (ERT Alentejo).

     

    Sandra Jorge, da CCDR Alentejo, apresentou os projetos de cooperação transfronteiriça GIT EUROACE e GIT EURO AAA.

    Sobre Interreg Talks

    O Interreg Talks Alentejo teve como objetivo sensibilizar os jovens para os resultados da Política de Coesão e da Cooperação Transfronteiriça, a nível local e regional, bem como promover o envolvimento ativo de jovens e cidadãos no debate sobre esta temática da Europa, crucial para o desenvolvimento da região. O próprio evento foi um bom exemplo dos resultados que este envolvimento pode ter, ao estar organizado pelo Rui Paixão, o primeiro voluntário programa IVY no Alentejo.

    É de salientar que o Programa POCTEP recomenda às entidades beneficiárias participar na inciativa IVY, na qual várias entidades beneficiárias POCTEP já têm participado. Contar com um/uma IVY volunteer aporta numerosas vantagens para as entidades e os projetos, já que os jovens trazem idéias novas e podem ser um apoio às atividades de comunicação, por exemplo.

     

    Anna Cinzia Dellagiacoma, da Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), apresenta o programa Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY).

     

    No decurso do evento foram sorteados vários prémios, que as empresas parceiras cederam, nomeadamente: peça de barro (Olaria, Nélia Patalim), uma garrafa de Gin Alqueva (Alqueva Lake Gin), uma garrafa Monsaraz Tradição Magnum (Carmin), um gin em garrafa de barro (Olaria Rui Patalim), uma visita ao Enoturismo da Adega Cartuxa (Fundação Eugénio de Almeida), uma visita à Destilaria Sharish com prova comentada (Destilaria Sharish), um Cruzeiro no Alqueva (Alqueva Cruzeiros), um passeio de balão (FlyDream Alentejo) e um Salto Tandem 9000 pés (SkyDive Portugal).
