Within the framework of the 7 strategies approved by POCTEP

The 8th call aims to boost cross-border cooperation projects aligned with the objective 5.2 of Priority 6 of the POCTEP Programme, focusing on integrated and inclusive local development in non-urban areas, with social, economic, environmental, cultural, tourism and security approaches.

Projects should fall within one of the 7 territorial development strategies approved by POCTEP, aiming to maximise the Programme’s impact across various areas of economic and social activity, always promoting cooperation between border regions.

• Multisectoral Strategy for Integrated and Sustainable Development of Shared Natural Spaces
• Strategic Plan of the Bauhaus Villages EUROACE (see Extremadura area MAP)
• Cooperation and Governance Strategy for the Practical Development of the Múrtigas Cross-border Ecotourism Product
• Framework Strategy for Cross-border Action to Promote Socio-economic Development in the Guadiana River Strip – Bajo Guadiana

• Territorial Development Strategy of the Functional Area of the Gerês – Xurés Cross-border Biosphere Reserve

The 6th call for projects, whose guidelines are available through this link, is open until 14:00 hours (Spanish mainland time) on 14/03/2025. The Programme strongly encourages interested organizations to NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATIONS for CoFFEE Interreg.

To assist organizations in preparing their applications, the Interreg Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 Programme held an online session on 10/02/2025.

The sixth project call is open from 10:00 (Spanish mainland time) on 15/01/2025 until 14:00 (Spanish mainland time) on 14/03/2025. The 7th call is expected to launch in FEB 2025. The deadline for submitting applications for this call is from 10:00 (Spanish mainland time) on 15/01/2025 until 14:00 (Spanish mainland time) on 14/03/2025, with the final date for registering applications in CoFFEE Interreg.

6th call

• The submission of applications can be made on the CoFFEE platform from January 15 to March 14, 2025.
• Projects must align with the political objectives OP 1, 2, 4, and the Interreg Specific Objective.
• It is aimed at the 6 Cooperation Areas of the Programme.
• It will have an ERDF grant of nearly 111 million euros.
• The eligibility start date is 01/01/2022 and the execution deadline is 31/12/2028.

Key project requirements:

• Minimum budget of 200,000.00 euros
• Allocate at least 55% of the total budget of each beneficiary until 2027 inclusive
• A single specific objective and a single type of intervention
• Cross-border nature and impact, focus on results
• Contribute to the Programme’s indicators and objectives
• Be compatible with national and EU policies / Fundamental Rights
• Include AIA or screening (Directive 2011/92/EU) or an assessment of impacts on Natura 2000 areas (specific objectives 1.2; 1.3; 1.4; 2.1; 2.2; 2.4; and 4.6 – material actions)
• At least 2 beneficiary entities, one from each State (except AECT and entities from the Valencia Treaty)
• Headquarters in the eligible territory and/or impact of actions in this territory
• Participation of private entities / SMEs (non-BP)
• Beneficiaries without funding (partners) can participate, but they cannot assume the role of BP
• Be legally valid and have the necessary technical, financial, and economic solvency competencies to carry out the proposed actions

It is important for entities interested in submitting applications to carefully review compliance with all admissibility conditions and the requirements outlined in the Call Guidelines.

Sobre el OP 4

El Objetivo Político 4, «Una Europa más Social e Inclusiva» enmarca una prioridad y cuatro objetivos específicos:

Prioridad 5. Potenciar la cooperación para afrontar el reto demográfico en el espacio fronterizo creando condiciones de vida atractivas basadas en el acceso al mercado de trabajo, servicios públicos esenciales aplicando principios de inclusión social e igualdad de oportunidades y trato.

Asimismo, comprende cuatro objetivos específicos (OE) para la mejora y promoción de:

• OE 4.1. mercado de trabajo eficaz e inclusivo, acceso al empleo de calidad, desarrollo de infraestructuras sociales y promoción de la economía social.
• OE 4.2. acceso a educación, formación y aprendizaje permanente en línea y a distancia, infraestructuras accesibles y resilientes.
• OE 4.5. acceso a asistencia sanitaria, resiliencia de sistemas sanitarios, atención primaria y transición de la asistencia institucional a los ámbitos familiar y local.
• OE 4.6. cultura y turismo sostenible en el desarrollo económico, inclusión social e innovación social.

El 2ª Comité de Seguimiento del POCTEP 2021-2027 aprobó en Zamora, el día 22 de marzo de 2023, las bases de la 4ª convocatoria de proyectos, correspondiente al OP4 “Una Europa más Social”.
