The Interreg Spain-Portugal Cooperation Program (POCTEP) 2021-2027 held its 4th Steering Committee on 12/12/2024, during which the rules for the 6th project call were approved, as well as the planned launch of the 7th call for Operations of Strategic Importance and other calls. Once the minutes of the committee meeting were approved, the rules are published and are available at the link below.

The deadline for submitting applications for this call will be from 10:00 AM (Spanish mainland time) on 15/01/2025 until 2:00 PM (Spanish mainland time) on 14/03/2025, the final date for registering applications in CoFFEE Interreg.

6TH CALL RULES

 

The key information is summarized below:

  • Projects must fall under the political objectives OP 1, 2, 4, and OE Interreg.
  • It is aimed at the 6 cooperation areas of the Program, which include 8 regions from Portugal and Spain.
  • It will have a FEDER grant of nearly 111 million euros.
  • Applications can be submitted through the CoFFEE platform from January 15 to March 14, 2025.
  • The eligibility start date is 01/01/2022, while the execution deadline is 31/12/2028.

Project requirements:

  • Minimum budget of 200,000.00 euros.
  • At least 55% of the total budget for each beneficiary must be allocated by 2027.
  • One specific objective and one type of intervention.
  • Cross-border nature and impact, with a focus on results.
  • Contribute to the indicators and objectives of the Program.
  • Be compatible with national and EU policies / Fundamental Rights.
  • Have an EIA or screening (Directive 2011/92/EU) or assessment of the consequences for Natura 2000 areas (specific objectives 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, and 4.6 – material actions).
  • At least 2 beneficiary entities, one from each country (except AECT and entities from the Valencia Treaty).
  • Headquarters in the eligible territory and/or impact of actions in this territory.
  • Involvement of private entities / SMEs (not Lead Beneficiary).
  • Beneficiaries without funding (partners) can participate, but they cannot act as Lead Beneficiary.
  • Be legally valid and have the necessary technical, financial, and economic capacity to carry out the proposed actions.
