On 25 November, the Final RAIA Conference was held in Ayamonte, in the Eurocity of the Guadiana. The meeting marked a key moment to present the project’s final results and also included the participation of six other POCTEP projects on related themes, as well as an address by the Director of the POCTEP Joint Secretariat, Elena de Miguel Gago. All of this made the event an excellent opportunity to promote capitalisation and the exchange of knowledge in the agri-food innovation sector.

The project seeks to create a network in the Alentejo–Algarve–Andalusia region that will provide public administrations, associations, businesses, and citizens in general with the necessary tools to promote agricultural innovation in rural areas, transforming the cross-border area of La Raya into a territory with new business opportunities and strengthened to face emerging challenges and opportunities.
Innovation is considered a driver of rural development that creates competitive advantages, and is therefore one of the main characteristics of the future network.
The overall objective of the project is to improve the institutional capacity of public authorities (municipalities, provincial councils, public agencies…) in the La Raya area to implement a cross-border plan aimed at promoting agri-food innovation and rural development jointly.
